IT Technician (Richmond) £20,000 -£23,000

Our Client, a prestigious Richmond based mid-sized business is looking to hire an IT Technician to lead the support of all IT functions of the business.  This will cover, ticketing, phone and face to face interactions across a number of systems and technologies.

The role of the IT Technician (1st/2nd Line Support) is to be the first point of contact for all staff on IT questions and problems : whether that be via the job-ticketing system, on the phone, or face-to-face. You will be reporting into the IT Manager and will have the role of ensuring that the user bases needs are met from an IT standpoint including operational checks, data cleansing, along with the upkeep and light maintenance of database systems.  You will also support the management and upkeep of company phones, laptops and mobile devices.

There will also be the opportunity to work on interesting and exciting ad hoc projects in support of the company’s infrastructure enabling you to widen your skill set and experience.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Management of ticketing system (Zendesk)
  • Work closely with user groups to ensure issues are addressed
  • Ongoing Desktop Support.
  • Assisting user base with desk moves from time to time.
  • Configuration and management of telephone system.
  • Management and provisioning of mobile devices, and vendor management.
  • Perform critical system checks and log completion of such checks.
  • Perform data cleansing tasks as documented, or agreed.

Technical Skills

  • Set up new Windows users (Windows 10)
  • Windows Server 2008 : 2016 (basic administration)
  • Understanding of Windows Laptop/Desktop Hardware
  • Configure and manage the internal phone system (PBX)
  • Mobile Device Management (iOS, Ipad)
  • Windows Active Directory (Basic)
  • Network printing (Basic)
  • Microsoft Office applications (Basic Support)

Desirable:

  • Networking Admin (switches, VLANS, routing, NAT, VPN and firewalls)
  • Basic Linux knowledge
  • Virtualisation (VMware ESXi exposure/knowledge)

  • Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholder (users, vendors, other 3rd party developers).

  • Strong time management, prioritisation and project management skills.
